In a collaborative effort, Koben Digital partnered with St. Vincent de Paul Society National Council of Australia Inc. to embark on a transformative journey breathing new life into their online presence and overcoming several challenges.

The Brief

Recognising the need for an upgraded online presence, St. Vincent de Paul Society embarked on a website redevelopment project with Koben Digital. Leveraging a data-driven approach, Koben initiated a comprehensive UX/CX co-design process. This involved the use and creation of personas, wireframe prototypes, and the implementation of a final design with specific functional requirements.

The Challenge

The previous website posed several challenges. An outdated website, inconsistent branding across various state websites, frustrating backend administration, unclear user journeys and slow load speeds were hampering their ability to effectively communicate their mission and engage with their audience.

The Solution

Koben Digital, in response to these challenges, transformed and redefined St. Vincent de Paul's online presence. Not only the technical aspects but also the overall user experience and branding consistency across all 9 websites. With Umbraco v12 as the backbone, St. Vincent de Paul's online presence became a unified and efficient platform.

 

  1. Migration to Umbraco v12: The foundation of the transformation involved migrating the website to Umbraco v12, a robust content management system known for its flexibility and scalability.
  2. Defined User Journeys: Key user journeys were simplified allowing easier access to the most important features of the website.
  3. Unified Multi-Site Setup: To streamline management and ensure consistency, a multi-site setup was implemented. This approach allowed for the centralized management of all sites within a single CMS, eliminating the inconsistencies across state websites.
  4. Headless Architecture for Speed: Recognizing the need for rapid load times, the website was built with a headless architecture. This innovative approach detached the frontend from the backend, achieving sub-one-second load times and ensuring a seamless user experience.
  5. SEO Migration Plan: A meticulous SEO migration plan was executed to guarantee a smooth transition without compromising search rankings. This involved strategic planning and execution to preserve and enhance St. Vincent de Paul's online visibility.
